Cactus Gallery is hosting a bird show opening this Saturday, Jan. 10. Some of my birds will be hanging out there. If you have a chance, please stop by.

I just put up 10 birds from the LACMA exhibition in my shop. All proceeds will be donated to Machine Project, a very awesome local (LA) gallery with a truly unique vision. I will only be selling 10 right now, and they will only be available through Dec. 16. These little birdies make a wonderful gift for all ages and they're made with eco-friendly materials: 100% cotton yarn and 100% bamboo garnetted fiber. Thank you very much! xoxoxox

The LACMA show was lots of fun. It took me about three hours, with four very awesome assistants, to hang all 101 birds. My 4-foot tall giant bird watched over everyone.

I've been working away on 101 birds for this show at lacma. The birds will be roosting near Chris Burden's Urban Lights installation. I'll be teaching crochet to anyone who'd like to learn. This album just arrived. It's funny, touching, and excellent, and now I can finally learn who the heck Millard Fillmore was. I'm really excited to have this around for Nate and me. There's something strangely thrilling about knowing facts. I'm not good at remembering them, but the excitement about the possibility of remembering them thrills me. 43 different artists created a rendering of each president in the thick booklet that comes with the 3-CD set. My three favorites are Camilla Engman's Reagan, Erik Werner's Hayes, and Shari Elf's Franklin Pierce & Jane Means Appleton Pierce. My favorite song so far is "A Great Beam of Light", about Jimmy Carter, who says he's been in contact with aliens. |

Not exactly crafty, but I'm very excited to be running in this 5K in about a month. We're raising money to fund research in fighting women's cancers. If you'd like to donate to a great cause (seriously, any amount would be awesome!), I'd love you forever. |
