Cactus Gallery is hosting a bird show opening this Saturday, Jan. 10. Some of my birds will be hanging out there. If you have a chance, please stop by.

Also -- if you're in the LA area and you'd love to learn how to make a talking Yeti, please come take a class with me at Machine Project. They're also offering intro classes on soldering, Arduino, and machine sewing.

I just put up 10 birds from the LACMA exhibition in my shop. All proceeds will be donated to Machine Project, a very awesome local (LA) gallery with a truly unique vision. I will only be selling 10 right now, and they will only be available through Dec. 16. These little birdies make a wonderful gift for all ages and they're made with eco-friendly materials: 100% cotton yarn and 100% bamboo garnetted fiber. Thank you very much! xoxoxox

This terrifying guy has a little mini-voice recorder inside. I had Nate yell "I'm hungry!" His little voice is a bit too cute for the enormous horrificness of this creature. |

The LACMA show was lots of fun. It took me about three hours, with four very awesome assistants, to hang all 101 birds. My 4-foot tall giant bird watched over everyone.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by! |

I found this awesome program called Build a Nest that helps women without many resources create businesses around the world. Sounds like a great idea, so I signed up. I'll be selling some of my birds through them and 25% of the sale goes directly to Build a Nest. Take me to the bird! |

Working on a new doll and came up with this lady.
Have you heard of textile futures? Some very bizarre and exciting ideas coming out of the (what seems to be the world's only) program at St. Martin's College. I love Meixuan Chen's blooming lights. |

He has a little trouble getting off the ground, but he's so soft to lay on. He's gigantic at approx. 22 inches wide x 20 inches high. Made of fleece with felt details.
You can find him in my shop. Thanks for looking! |
