| amigurumi class |
[Apr. 21st, 2008|02:03 pm] |

I'll be teaching an introductory amigurumi class next week here in LA. If there's anyone who'd like to take part, please let me know your email in the comments and I'll send you the info. This is for anyone who'd like to learn crocheting in the round to make stuffed creatures. We'll be making this bird. Tweet! |

How are you? It's time to catch up and post some stuff I've been making. Here's a place we like to keep trucks or whatever. Crocheted cotton, fabric drawstring bag inside.

Polka-dot fabric for the drawstring bag would make a fun party hat. |

| toybox doll #1 |
[Feb. 16th, 2007|09:05 am] |
Yay! Thanks again to all of you who joined toybox and sent me your pictures. I've been inspired by several and plan to make more from what I've received. I chose one and made my first doll. Here she is:
I love this picture of jek_a_go_go with her grandma. This little lady is a tribute to her in her 94th year. I have a little secret -- I'm very inspired my old ladies -- I think they're awesome. So, jek_a_go_go, please contact me with your snail mail address so I can get this out to you. Remember to send me a pic of her with the doll, so I can post them together. You can email me at cherylcambrasATyahooDOTcom.
I felt so refreshed making this -- I had lots of new fun ideas. This doll's head snaps to the body, so the idea is to create a whole bunch of different ones and make their looks interchangeable. Fun!

| emmett |
[Jul. 13th, 2006|06:34 am] |
This is Emmett.
I'm not sure what kind of bird he is. Some sort of baby penguin/toucan/bluejay.
He's crocheted from some fluffy powder blue acrylic and his beak is jute. Delicate and rough. That's Emmett.

[Jun. 15th, 2005|12:21 pm] |
Hurray! I had been planning on making a dachshund for my aunt a long time ago, and I finally did it! This was hard for me, especially since one bit me when I was little. I've been traumatized ever since (you may email sympathy cards to me). I designed it as I went along and most of it is crocheted; I knitted the ears, nose, and tongue. I'm not a big fan of chenille yarn, mainly because it's so hard to keep track of stitches when using it, but I really like how it worked for this little pup.
 Here he's getting a much-needed scratch.
 On a walk.
 Slobbering on me. |

| sweet dollop |
[Jun. 7th, 2005|01:25 pm] |
This little guy came into my mind this morning. I don't really know what it is, but I like the shape and color.
a dollop of cream, a milk drop, a paint blob, a white chocolate chip, a happy thought bubble....many possibilities. :) It's crocheted with cotton, stuffed with fluff, and measures 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide. |

[May. 20th, 2005|10:15 am] |
Here's my entry for this week's fiber friday, "shipwrecked."
Pinky had to make a crash-landing at our pad. Someone at our place has fallen in love.
Sadly, Pinky will be leaving us soon. In the meantime, they're having a mad affair.
And just because it's so cute, and it's one of the rare moments that Noah is behaving around yarn, here he is during Pinky's creation
 Have a great weekend! |
